Joe Amado, who has been working in the cotton business for over 45 years, graduated from Robert College Department of Business Administration in 1971. Right after graduation, he began working at the family company PTM as sales director. In 1980 he took a sabbatical from his career at PTM and went abroad. After working at the headquarters of A. Meredith Jones & Co. Ltd. in Liverpool for one season, he managed the Dallas, Texas office of the same company for two years. Returning to Adana in September 1983, he undertook the management of PTM together his uncle Mois Amado. Since 1993 to date, he has been working as the president of the company. Joe Amado, who served on the Executive Board of Mediterranean Cotton Exporters’ Association for many years, is among the most experienced and reputable figures in the cotton business in Turkey with special expertise US cotton.
